27 Feb D*Face & Triumph Collaboration
Triumph Motorcycles was first established in 1902, and for more than two decades has been producing iconic bikes, that perfectly blend authentic design, character, charisma and performance.
In a perfectly suited collaboration, D*Face has worked closely with the Triumph team at their factory headquarters in Hinckley, to customise three bikes from Triumph’s Modern Classics range in his own unique and distinctive style. Celebrating 59 years since the birth of the original iconic ’59 Triumph Bonneville, this unique collaboration is inspired by ‘The Spirit of ’59’.
From the moment pop culture exploded in the late 1950s, a wave of creative individualism saw the motorcycle become synonymous with personal freedom and Triumph Motorcycles quickly cemented their place as the bike of choice on both sides of the Atlantic. For the music and movie stars of the 60’s, from Steve McQueen to Bob Dylan, the Triumph Bonneville helped define their style and represented their shared attitude to life. Today, for a new generation of famous motorcycle fans from Tom Cruise to David Beckham and Tom Hardy, Triumph’s Modern Classics continue to encapsulate all of the spirit of individuality and freedom born in ’59.
D*Face has personally customised three unique Modern Classic bikes as part of this unique art collaboration: a Bonneville Thruxton R, a Bonneville Bobber Black and a Bonneville T120 – painting the fuel tanks by hand and configuring each bike individually using custom Triumph accessories. The hand-painted designs are unique and celebrate the Spirit of ’59 through D*Face’s distinctive and original style. The result of a collaboration between two British icons, each bike can be considered an instant collector’s item and a true work of art – three unique motorcycles in the world.
“Riding a custom bike is about standing for what you believe in. It’s about expressing that part of yourself that separates you from the rest of the crowd. Triumph has undoubtedly been a fundamental part of that culture for 59 years and I am delighted to be able to play a part in their story and British motorcycle history.” – D*Face, 2018.
“Triumph Motorcycles have always been linked with the era of freedom that exploded in ’59 with the iconic Bonneville T120 and what it represented. First launched in ’58, the original Bonnie changed the face of motorcycling across the world and created a legend. The collaboration with D*Face, a genuine creative trailblazer, celebrates the attitude of individuality we feel lives on today in the culture that surrounds us and of course in every Triumph.” – Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer at Triumph Motorcycles.
Anyone who takes a Triumph Modern Classic for a test ride between the 26th February 2018 and 30th April 2018 will have the chance to win one of these unique bikes.
