This is the moment a trick finally clicks – orange hair bouncing, big wide mouthed smile and one hand thrown up in a rock-on salute. It’s not just landing the first kickflip, but landing proof that all the falling and trying again was worth it.
As a neurodivergent artist, I know that click can feel bigger and louder and more hard-won than it looks from the outside so I wanted the piece to feel loud too – with bright candy colors, a flaming skull on the sweatshirt and that unmistakable full-body "NAILED IT" pose. I wanted it to feel nostalgic and with an almost infectious sense of joy.
