In evolutionary biology, a chronospecies is a species whose traits change over time but hasn't diverged into two or more species living contemporaneously. I chose the word to describe the human species as timekeepers as well as to emphasise our awareness of our own mortality. The skull in the drawing is a symbol of our mortality, but it is also a reminder that we are merely evolved apes no matter how much time and modern-day life has separated us from our ancient origins.
