The intention behind this piece is one of self-love. Connecting with our inner selves, our needs, wants, and wishes, can be a gentle act, recognising that some of these facets might seem scary but have the ability to guide us. In some of my pieces, large, sky creatures roam quietly and observe the lands. These gentle giants deeply care for their surroundings, observing and nurturing them. As someone who is fascinated by folklore and fantasy, I’ve always felt a connection with the crossovers and contradictions that the gentle giant presents; Deep, overwhelming feelings of fear synchronised with curiosity and warmth. I use the gentle giant in this piece to represent the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that we carry with us, and the love they help us give to ourselves.
