A black-and-white deer emerges softly from a blurred field of wildflowers, its gaze partially
concealed and diffused, evoking stillness and vulnerability. Cutting through the center, a narrow
strip of saturated neon signage introduces a rupture. The vivid reds, yellows, and blues of the sign
contrast sharply with the muted grayscale surroundings, creating a visual and conceptual
dissonance.
The deer’s face is split by this intervention, as if its perception or identity is being interrupted by
an external force. The flowers, delicate and indistinct, reinforce a sense of quiet, organic presence,
while the neon suggests urban intensity, artificial light, and intrusion.
Together, these elements create a tension between interior calm and external stimulation,
suggesting a coexistence that is both fragile and unresolved.
